What is Compelling Preaching?
Compelling Preaching offers opportunities for preachers-in-training, especially for undergraduate and seminary students at Azusa Pacific University or partner private Christian high schools, and for active preachers, to become more deeply established in their spiritual lives while also creating community-oriented opportunities for sermon and personal development.
We find ourselves at a point in history when preachers increasingly need to adapt their approaches to preaching to reach, inspire, and contribute to the spiritual development of hearers. This is a space for preachers – current and aspiring – to explore the ever-changing landscape of preaching the gospel within a community of practice.
What is Thriving in Ministry?
The Thriving in Ministry (TiM) Initiative at Azusa Pacific University aims to build a research-based system of support that fosters the holistic well-being of clergy, enabling each pastor to be his/her best self in pastoral ministry, and ultimately enhancing the congregational health of churches.
Through Cohorts, Webinars, Gatherings, Certificates, and more, the Thriving in Ministry Initiative offers increased opportunities for clergy who desire increased Pastoral and Congregational Health.
